St. Andrew's College continues to set the pace in CISAA Division 1 soccer, collecting two more wins and their third in a row on the road, as they hold firm in first place.
On Wednesday, the Saints had seven different scorers en route to a comfortable 10-1 victory at Ridley College. The match was just 22 minutes old when Josh Henriques '26, Jarel Ndombele '26 and Nick Alexander '27 found the back of the net. It was more of the same in the second stanza, with Newfoundland new boy Dylan Mahoney '27 scoring three times and first year forward Luscien Yu '29 adding two. Enzo Han '27 and Jayden Walters '26 chipped in with singles.
On Saturday, 1st Soccer didn't bring their 'A' game to Homecoming at St. Michael's College, but were still able to sneak away with a 2-1 win. A lacklustre start, saw the Saints concede on the counter just five minutes into the game and despite some sustained pressure, they were unable to get on the scoreboard until just before the half.
Yu was the Saints' substitute spark, getting the scoring started with a lovely cutback to Walters, for his team-leading 13th goal of the season. And at the stroke of halftime, centre back Alexander netted the game-winner, his second goal of the weekend. SAC didn't allow another shot on target, but were unable to unlock the Kerry Blues defence.
SAC 1st Soccer has two more CISAA meetings this week. They head to Appleby College on Wednesday, before returning home for a noon Homecoming kick-off against visiting Upper Canada College.
Go Saints!
