Just three days after their historic 'Double Double' (two straight regional (CISAA) and national (CAIS) titles), St. Andrew's College earned a 2-1-1 record at Connecticut's Can-Am Super Cup Showcase. It was the Saints best-ever performance at this annual elite prep school and club event.
SAC opened the showcase early on Saturday morning with a comfortable 2-0 win over Sigma U19 (ON). Jayden Walters '26 put the Saints ahead at the 8-minute mark through a forced turnover and a 25-yard screamer that set the tone for the match. Walters doubled the lead from the penalty spot just 10 minutes later and a solid defensive effort, via centre backs Heris Ziai '27 and Nick Alexander '27, alongside goalkeeper Raistlan Evans '27, secured the victory and the clean sheet.
Saturday afternoon, SAC ran into a buzzsaw in Northwood School (NY), who came into the weekend as America's 2nd-ranked prep school, via Sport Illustrated. Despite the 4-0 defeat, the Saints twice missed out on glorious scoring opportunities and were unlucky to not keep it close.
After a scrappy and scoreless opening half on Sunday versus South Kent (CT), SAC asserted themselves in the second stanza against this top-25 US squad. Fifteen minutes from time, captain Josh Henriques '26 slipped Enzo Han '27 in on goal and he calmly put the Saints ahead. Han was the distributor for goal number two, with Jah'Zion Taylor '27 increasing the lead to 2-0. Seemingly in control, a breakdown on a set piece and a lucky bounce on the final kick of the game forced SAC to settle for a disappointing 2-2 draw.
In the tournament finale, the Saints jumped out in front 2-0 again against Asante Elite U19 (ON) through Walters and Merek Husack '27, but had to grab the three points in a penalty shootout, with Joseph Corsetti '28 making the big save for SAC's second win of the weekend.
The 1st Soccer Saints now head into a deloading week, before their final outdoor week of the season, which will culminate with the MSV Showcase on November 22nd & 23rd at home on Yuill Field.
