Playoff Preview: SAC 1st Soccer chases the cup double
 
After claiming the CAIS National Championship on home soil, the Saints now go in search of their second trophy of the season when they open the CISAA post-season on Monday, October 28.
 
Last week, SAC 1st Soccer (15-3-1) battled to a hard-fought 1-1 draw with St. Michael's College, placing the Saints in third place and setting up a quarterfinal match-up with Upper Canada College. SAC is a perfect 4-0 versus UCC this fall in regular season, friendly and tournament play. Their last meeting was in the group stage at the CAIS Nationals, with the Saints cruising to a comfortable 4-1 win.
 
SAC is averaging three goals a game, and leading the way has been forward Jayden Walters '26 who has a team-leading 18 goals. Winger Joe Duke '25 has chipped in with seven scores, while midfielders Josh Henriques '26 (8) and Seb Madeiros '25 (6) top the Saints assist chart.
 
SAC has also been stingy in defensive, conceding just four goals in their past seven games. Goalkeeper Robert Barkman '26 has seven clean sheets on the season and has also added a whopping four assists on the counterattack.
 
Should the Saints slip past UCC on Monday, they would then head to De La Salle College on Wednesday, October 30 for a CISAA semifinal match-up. In their only meeting this season, the Saints' offence was clicking in a surprising 9-0 road win at DLS.
 
St. Andrew's 1st College 1st Soccer is three wins away from trophy number two of 2024. Let the playoffs begin!
