Backed by a three-goal week from forward
Zach Brook '25, the St. Andrew's College 1st Soccer Saints grabbed of pair of victories to run their winning streak to five straight and remain a perfect 4-0-0 in league play.
On Wednesday, SAC hosted an organized and determined Hillfield Strahallan squad, who opened the scoring on a deflection midway through the first half.
Despite the bulk of possession and a handful of quality scoring chances, the Saints weren't able to break through until the 60th minute, when senior winger
Grayson Coburn '24 fired one home from distance. SAC continued to apply pressure and were rewarded with a pair of late goals from Brook, to seal the victory.
That win followed a total team effort on Monday, when the 1st Soccer Saints hit the road and collected an important 3-1 victory at Upper Canada College.
Seventeen Saints contributed quality minutes, on an afternoon where they enjoyed 70% possession with some outstanding 1- & 2-touch combinations, alongside a defensive effort that limited UCC to a late goal off a set piece. Brook, Coburn and Seb Madeiros '25 rounded out the SAC scoring.
Next week, the Saints will head to Ridley College for the CAIS National Invitational Tournament, where they'll join 19 schools from across Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, New Brunswick and Bermuda.
SAC will open their event on Thursday, October 12 when they take on Montreal's Lower Canada College at 9:30am.
Go Saints!
