1st Soccer Saints grab home field advantage for CISAA playoffs
On Friday, St. Andrew's College 1st Soccer earned a much-needed 3-0 victory over visiting Upper Canada College to catapult them to top spot, and earning the Saints home field advantage throughout the CISAA post-season.
SAC (5-0-1) had an opportunity to lock in first place on Wednesday at Appleby College, but were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw. Twice the Saints came back from a goal down via a powerful Joe Duke '25 header and a Reza Ziai '25 tap in, but they failed to find the game-winner.
Back home on Friday, SAC put in a determined effort, with plenty of possession, and cruised to the 3-0 shutout victory behind goals from forwards Josh Henriques '26 and Jarel Ndombele '26, and senior winger Grayson Coburn '24.
The 2023 CISAA post-season opens for the Saints at home at 11:30am on Wednesday, November 1, when they take on Trinity College School. A Wednesday win would then move SAC into a Friday semifinal at St. Andrew's College.
Go Saints!
