St. Andrew's College 1st Soccer opened their 2023 CISAA league campaign this week with a pair of wins over Ridley College, behind a four-goal effort from forward Josh Henriques '26.
At SAC on Wednesday, Henriques and
Pax Cortizas '26 each scored twice, with
Issa Abdu '24,
Grayson Coburn '24 and
Joe Duke '25 pitching in with singles in a 7-0 home victory. Senior vice-captain
Gaven Toor '24 claimed the clean sheet.
On Saturday, the Saints ventured to St. Catharines and slipped away with 6-3 road win. Henriques scored SAC's first and last goals of the afternoon, while
Jordan Bragoli '25,
Grayson Coburn '24 and
Reza Ziai '25 rounded out the scoring.
The backline also had some quality moment, with vice-captain Seb Madeiros '25 being the vocal leader and
Nolan Martin '25 chipping in with a pair of rock solid efforts.
Before the Thanksgiving break, SAC 1st Soccer will head south to Upper Canada College (Mon Oct 2), before hosting Hillfield Strathallan College on Wednesday afternoon.
