SAC 1st Soccer soared to the top of the CISAA standings with a 7-0 opening day win at De La Salle College, before heading to the NXT LVL Showcase and returning home with their first-ever undefeated weekend.
On Wednesday, the Saints asserted themselves early and raced to a 5-0 halftime advantage at De La Salle, as they cruised to their first three points of the CISAA season. Last year's leading scorer Jayden Walters '26, started right where he left off, burying a hat trick. SAC captain Josh Henriques '26 added a brace, with wingers Jarel Ndombele '26 and Dylan Mahoney '27 chipping in with singles. Raistlan Evans '27 and Joseph Corsetti '28 shared the clean sheet.
At the NXT LVL Showcase in Albany, New York on Saturday, the Saints kept up the momentum, grabbing a 2-0 advantage just 22 minutes in through an Henriques free kick and a Ndombele assist that sent Walters in alone on goal. Despite SAC's continued pressure, South Bronx United (NY) struck back twice and the Red & White were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw, despite the relentless midfield effort from Enzo Han '27.
On Sunday morning, it was a date with the ISL's Lawrence Academy (MA). Once again it was Walters that put the Saints on the scoreboard first via a perfectly weighted pass from midfielder Merek Husack '27. Lawrence Academy knotted it up before the half, but the Saints kept coming and on a goalmouth scramble Bermuda's Jah'Zion Taylor '27 nodded home the game winner to open his SAC account. The 2-1 win was well-deserved and another big step forward for this young squad.
Up next for the Saints is a pair of CISAA league match-ups. On Wednesday, SAC travels to Ridley College, followed by a Saturday Homecoming visit to St. Michael's College School.
Go Saints!
