The St. Andrew's College '1st Soccer' Saints wrapped up tryouts and training camp on Wednesday, and are poised for a busy fall season that will kick off in Buffalo, NY this weekend with matches at Nichols School and St. Mary's High School.
 
The Red & White will head into action behind the experience of 10 seniors, who are eager to compete for both a CISAA title and CAIS National Championship crown, which will be hosted at SAC in October.
 
The last line of defence will be anchored by Oman's Faris Al-Hinai '25 and Matvey Semochkin '25 of Russia, alongside Jamaican centre back Thierry Johnston '25, Newfoundland's Nolan Martin '25 and holding midfielder Oliver Poulos '25.
 
Expected to be flying up the flanks will be Quebec City's Jordan Bragoli '25, Bermuda's Reza Ziai '25 and Newfoundland's Joe Duke '25. That trio will be connecting in the front third with Vancouver's Zach Brook '25 and crafty lefty Sebastian Madeiros '25.
 
2023 most improved player Josh Henriques '26 of Jamaica will look to match his team-leading 23 goals from last season, with fellow juniors Adam Popatia '26 and Jarel Ndombele '26 also aiming to be a key part of the Saints attack.
 
New faces include three more juniors, in powerful Jamaican striker Jayden Walters '26, League1 Ontario goalkeeper Robert Barkman '26 and German midfielder David Bockenheimer '26.
 
There are also four sophomores who are likely to make an immediate impact on the pitch, led SAC U16 graduates Heris Ziai '27 (Bermuda) and Joshua Shi '27 (Stouffville), and new boys Merek Husack '27 (Calgary) and Michael Madeiros '27 (Bermuda).
