In Hudson, Ohio, at the Midwest Prep Showcase, the St. Andrew's College Saints dropped two matches, but bounced back well on Sunday after a sluggish event opener.
On Saturday, the Saints fell 5-0 to Immaculate Heart Central (NY) after a sloppy opening 30 minutes. Already down three goals, SAC got back on the front foot and generated some offence, missing two sitters and having a curler ring off the crossbar from senior
Aidan Peets '24.
It was then a back-and-forth affair on Sunday against Woodstock Academy (CT), where the Saints fell a goal behind twice, only to respond to tie it both times.
New boy
Jarel Ndombele '26 picked the defender's pocket to slot home SAC's opener, with Josh Henriques '26 burying his team leading 13th goal of the season through a great pass from winger
Jordan Bragoli '25 and cutback assist from
Pax Cortizas '26.
The Saints had a penalty shout denied with 15 minutes to play, and conceded two goals in the match's final five minutes, as they pressed forward to find the equalizer — ultimately dropping a 5-2 decision.
SAC will rest up and get right back at this week with a pair of matches to wrap up their CISAA league schedule. The Saints, undefeated in league play, head to Oakville's Appleby College on Wednesday for a battle for first place, before returning home on Friday to face Upper Canada College.
