St. Andrew's College delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday, shutting out the always formidable Bishop Kearney School 4–0 at La Brier Family Arena. After a sloppy start, the Saints controlled the pace, showcasing depth, discipline, and poise in all three zones.
Goaltender Chase Petrova was outstanding, stopping all 33 shots to earn a well-deserved shutout. SAC's defensive core, led by Luca Diplacido and Finn Kearns, neutralized Bishop Kearney's offensive threats and transitioned play effectively.
The scoring opened in the second period with James Roy finding the back of the net at 9:20, assisted by Nolan Long and Tucker Sinclair. Just five minutes later, Nate Feiner doubled the lead with help from Luca Diplacido and Marcus Magri. In the third, Long added a goal at 9:25 from a breakaway, and Sinclair capped the scoring at 5:15, securing his second point of the game.
Despite three minor penalties, SAC's penalty kill remained perfect, and the team maintained composure throughout while going 1 for 1 on the powerplay. The Saints outshot BK 33–22 and made their chances count, combining efficient offense with stellar goaltending.
Reflecting on the game, forward Andy Huang said, "We started a bit slow, but once we settled in, our energy picked up and we played our game. Everyone contributed, and it was great to bounce back with a strong win."
SAC now turns its attention to the Prep Hockey Conference season, which opens in Minnesota at Shattuck St. Mary's. The first game of the weekend is scheduled for Friday, November 7th at 7 PM, marking the start of another exciting chapter in the Saints' season.
