Students and staff packed into Bedard Gym for the 'East Coast Classic' game against Halifax Grammar School. It was a tremendous atmosphere, and the game featured exciting back-and-forth action that came right down to the final possession!
After a slow start mentally on the defensive end, the Saints responded by raising their game and becoming much more aggressive at both ends of the floor.
Brandon Yi and
David Osa-Ogbeide attacked the paint with speed, while
Spencer Haslett,
Jacari Marshall, and
Gabriel Cabelli controlled the defensive glass.
Ben Fitzpatrick and
Duncan McDonell kept the offense flowing with pinpoint passing, while
Nick Shackell heated up and provided a big spark from the perimeter.
Despite being down 10 points entering the fourth quarter, the Saints battled back to tie the game with one minute to play. A fortunate bounce helped the ball find an open Halifax shooter on their final possession, and the Saints were unable to answer at the final buzzer.
Overall, a fantastic game and a great showing from the Saints heading into tournament action this weekend at the Barrie Showdown!
