JV Soccer 2022-23 Season Recap

JV soccer had a spectacular season. We finished 3rd in a league of 13 teams – and of those 13 teams, 9 of them were their school's varsity squad. Our group was easily the most talented, dedicated, positive, and hardworking team that we have had in at least 10 years. We want to thank you for showing up at every practice, playing hard, and cheering each other on all season. Now here are a few things we learned this season: It's a whole lot of fun to spoil UCC's homecoming with a win. Marek knows how to put the ball in the net, which he did a LOT! We're talking 15 goals in a pretty short season. Super Mario could dribble through 5 guys in a phone booth, provided he's on turf. Max just might have figured out how offside works in soccer – thankfully he's lethal at pens. Nikol's mom makes the best chocolate chip cookies the team ever tasted! Basil has a big heart, and he isn't afraid of a yellow card. Liam's kneecap does very strange things It's no fun losing in the semi-finals, especially in a crazy tight game to the eventual champs.

And now our most improved and most valuable players. Selecting the most improved player for our team proved to be a challenging task as many of the boys made significant improvements to their game throughout the season. But the player who showed the greatest improvement while having the most significant impact on our season is our starting goaltender, Adam Campagna. Our most valuable player scored our very first goal of the season. He was an absolute rock in the backfield, cool under pressure and frequently starting our attack with smart passes and athletic runs. JV Soccer's most valuable player is Jaden Richardson.
