Norm McCauley

Norm McCauley joined the St. Andrew’s College faculty in March 2025 as Head Coach of the U18 AAA Hockey Team. Norm is a recently retired teacher from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Barrie, where he has taught since 1994. He has taught in multiple roles over his career, including physical education, math, science, religion, special education, and leadership. Norm has been a lead teacher in varied roles as school mission program lead, Hockey Canada skills academy lead, and outdoor education lead.
 
He earned his B.P.H.E. (Hons.) from Laurentian University and completed an M. Arts degree in Sports Studies from Miami (Ohio) University, where he also completed his teacher training coursework.
 
Norm has coached at multiple levels, including NCAA D1 assistant coach with Miami (Ohio) University on two occasions. He has been head coach in USports with the St. Mary’s University Huskies and several Junior A teams in Collingwood, Barrie, and Aurora, and he has extensive AAA head coaching experience with York Simcoe Express and Barrie Jr. Colts.
 
He is a High Performance 1, Hockey Canada/National Coaching Certification Program Coach and a Certified Hockey Canada Skills Instructor. He is a former development coach and coach mentor for the Barrie Jr. Colts AAA organization.
 
Norm is excited to contribute to the St. Andrew’s College legacy of character building, skill development, and overall athletic success.
