The U16 Volleyball Team travelled to Guelph this past weekend to compete in the Centennial CVI Tournament, and returned home as champions.
The Saints set the tone early, going undefeated in pool play with straight-set victories over St. Mary's HS (25-6, 25-9), host Centennial CVI (25-17, 25-23), and Orangeville DSS (25-18, 25-19). Their strong play secured a spot in the semifinals, where they continued their momentum with a decisive 2–0 win over Owen Sound DSS (25-13, 25-21).
The championship final featured the top seeds from each half of the draw: SAC and John F. Ross CVI. After narrowly dropping the first set 27–25, the Saints stormed back in convincing fashion, taking the next two sets 25–16 and 15–6 to capture the tournament title.
It was a day of strong serving, steady defence, and consistent team play, an excellent start to the season for this promising U16 squad.
