1st Football travelled to UCC on Friday afternoon. The defence played well again in this game, while the offence struggled to punch the ball in the endzone when opportunities came their way. Down 7-1 at halftime, the goal in the 2nd half was to find a way to ensure we closed out drives and get some points. Although SAC couldn't find the endzone for a touchdown, the points came from the execution of the field goal team and the leg of Spencer Haslett. Down 7-4 and only 2 minutes remaining in the game, the Saints were faced with another long no-huddle drive to try and get into field goal range to tie the game before regulation. With some strong running from RB Will Mantrop, the Saints found themselves in a familiar situation, needing a field goal with no time remaining on the clock to tie the game. Spencer Haslett did it once again kicking a 42 yard field goal to send the game into OT!

The defence came up big on UCC's possession in OT holding them to no points. Next up was the Saints offence and they didn't disappoint. Although scoring a TD and having it called back due to a holding penalty, the Saints maintained their composure and set up the field goal team on 3rd down to kick a game winning 35 yard field goal to win the game!

Congratulations to Spencer Haslett who kicked field goals from 33, 35 and 42 yards and was solely responsible for all the SAC points in this game.

The Saints now prepare for a very good Bishop Timon team from Buffalo, NY who will be visiting SAC on October 14th for a 2 pm kickoff.
