Despite missing four starters due to injury, the 1st Football Saints were up to the challenge against the Bishop Timon Tigers from Buffalo, NY.
The Saints knew they were facing a very talented team that features a running back who is an NCAA D1 commit. A complete four-quarter performance was needed to compete on this day, and the Saints put forth their best effort. The offence had another good performance statistically, and this time, they scored in the red zone.
The offence was led by QB
Dylan Kress, who was 15 for 23 for 226 yards passing and 2 TD passes while rushing for 1 TD. Receiver and running back,
Felix Auger finished with 163 all-purpose yards and 2 touchdowns.
The defence was spectacular, forcing the Bishop Timon offence to turn over the ball on downs twice while linebacker
Brandon Yi had his first interception of the season in his first start! In addition, the Saints defence did an incredible job containing one of the most talented running backs they will ever see at the high school level.
Despite a valiant effort by the Saints, the game came down to another 65-yard drive that was executed well before being stopped on the Timon 6-yard line on 3rd down.
